Johan Mackenbach

Johan Mackenbach has contributed substantially to the European knowledge and awareness of public health and welfare with his research and educational focus on social epidemiology, medical demography and health services research.

He has chaired European research on inequality in health, he has been chief editor of the European Journal of Public Health and he is a public health advisor to the Dutch government councils.
